Hard Lessons, High Impact

Three years into my work at Collective Focus, this organization is the most challenging yet rewarding project of my life. Every day the foot traffic at our door grows with an increased demand for assistance while our neighborhood battles poverty. The lessons I've learned have caused transformative shifts in my understanding of social, interpersonal and political issues.

What do I accomplish at the hub?

I am a co-founder of Collective Focus, which means I've helped envision the strategies and actions of our collective from the beginning. In my day-to-day, I tackle the role of Migrant Outreach Coordinator. My work has evolved to center recently arrived migrants and lndigenous immigrants who come to Collective Focus looking for food and clothing, and end up finding a community that celebrates their unique culture.

Activity Portfolio

Vendor and Artist Support

At Collective Focus, I dedicate myself to marketing our collective's creativity by facilitating sales, running our newsletter, and designing promotional material.

Event Planning

Every year I work with Indigenous migrant artisans to host large cultural events. I work on securing special permits, fundraising, translation and more.

A Champion for Fridges

It's an honor to maintain community fridges for 5 years and help thousands of people access free nutrition through such a creative food justice intervention.

The Gift of Kindness

At the Resource Hub, we provide hundreds of free donated items every week. During the holidays, we plan special giveaways to empower our community.
